CROP Hunger Walk – October 24
Unitarian
Universalists of Sterling will be
participating in the sixth annual Western Loudoun CROP Hunger Walk on Saturday,
October 24, 2009.The Walk will be on
the Washington and Old Dominion Trail (W&OD), from the Train Station in Purcellville
to Ivandale Road, and back.We will walk
rain or shine, with registration at 8:00 a.m. and the Walk beginning at 8:30
a.m.Any and all walkers are welcome,
including little ones in strollers and those in wheelchairs.
Funds raised by CROP Hunger Walks are used by Church World
Service for hunger- and refugee-related projects around the world.Twenty-five percent of the amount the Western
Loudoun CROP Hunger Walk raises will be donated directly to Loudoun Interfaith
Relief. This is a great way to educate ourselves, and our youth, about the
growing hunger crisis at the same time we are doing something about it!
