December 13th 2009 – “Chanukah, Peace, and Home” Rev Anya Sammler-Michael considers the teachings of the Jewish sage Maimonides who taught that the meaning of Chanukah was to create and sustain peace in the home. During the holiday season many of us struggle to attain this ideal - especially when we have relatives with vastly different faiths, social, or poliitcal perspectives. Let us learn from Maimonides, from the Chanukah lights, and from one another. Our children's choir will sing and a duo of violinists will perform!
