Biopic of the controversial and influential African American leader. Born Malcolm Little, his father was killed by the KKK. He became a gangster, and while in jail discovered the Nation of Islam writings of Elijah Muhammad. Malcolm changed his surname to X, rather than preserve a slave-masters name, and became a leader in the Black Muslim
movement. In 1963 he went on a pilgrimage to Mecca.
