There is only one secret ingredient that makes RE
successful: your presence. Please bring your children
regularly, talk to them frequently about what is going on in RE, and
volunteer your time and talent when asked. We currently offer four class
levels designed to best serve the developmental needs of our
children.
The Explorers (0-4 years) get to know their peers and some of the caring adults in the
church, in a safe, loving and nurturing environment. Please sign your
child in each week.
Super Heroes (grades K-3) are introduced to people in the Hebrew and Christian Bibles who
displayed courage and wisdom. The students explore how the lives
of these people confirm the values Unitarian Universalists strive to
promote. The class also encourages children to use their
own positive “super powers” as they grow spiritually and
ethically.
Adventurers (grades 4-7) gain familiarity with stories from many religious traditions,
with an emphasis on the Hebrew and Christian Bibles. The class reinforces the UU living traditions, promotes appreciation of the
student's own religious heritage and provides perspective in
evaluating religious claims.
The Youth Group (grades
8-12) integrates the five components of a
successful youth program to create their own dynamic group. The components are worship, leadership, learning, social action and fellowship.
If you have questions about the Religious Exploration program, don't hesitate to ask our director, Linda Weaver .
