My wife Andrea and I have a long history with music. She is an accomplished classical soprano and I am a published composer, conductor, and frequent performer in the percussive arts. We both have degrees in music and relish in all its realms. By sharing our talents and leadership with UUS, we hope to elevate music's role in worship and in conscience.
Music has a way of bringing us together under a common denominator to guide us towards both new and old truths. It doesn't matter whether you can read music well, whether there is dust on that old instrument, or if your rhythm is somewhat short-legged! Music still has the power to reach you and therefore you become a conduit for all its beautiful and even mystical effects! Music brings something unique to each of us and in return, we offer something unique of ourselves. At UUS, we hope to bring this all together in a nurturing, relaxed, yet highly promising musical venture.
The UUS Choir sings at least once a month for regular services and performs expanded repertoire for special occasions and holidays.
Recordings and drill files are customarily offered so you may practice at home and we embrace scheduling flexibility for those who
cannot come on a regular basis. We rehearse on Monday evenings from 7:30pm - 9:00pm. All interested singers and instrumentalists are
invited to attend!
In addition to the UUS Choir, we have an ad hoc band, tuned water-glass ensemble, drumming ensemble, and numerous opportunities for
additional instrumental or vocal performances. For more information, please contact the music director or speak with any choir member.
