It’s not quite the end ofAugust as I write this and autumn is a full month away. So how is everyone’ssummer so far? Hot! Too hot for lazy evenings on the deck – at least for me –but not too hot to stay pretty busy. I hope everyone had a good summer, enjoyedthe more relaxed pace, traveled a bit, and avoided heat stroke! Are you readyto start thinking about fall? Me neither, but it’s coming anyway.

Before we even have a chance to turn around, the church year will be in full swing. Our choir will begin singing at the In-gathering service on Sept 12^th. Our band and jazz musicians have begun rehearsing and always welcome new members. Covenant groups will be starting up again in October.  The book club has already announced its fall schedule. The Green Sanctuary and Stream Monitoring groups invite your participation. A new adult religious education program will begin soon with more interesting offerings. And of course our children’s Religious Exploration program will begin its new year in Sept. I hope you will take part in one of more of these activities. And if there is something else that interests you, talk to me or Rev Anya about starting a new group.

In addition to these ongoing activities, we will have our Congregational Retreat on Saturday, October 30^th, and our annual auction the next Saturday, November 6^th.  Mark your calendars!
