JOB OPENING: Religious Exploration Coordinator
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Sterling, VA (UUCS), a small but well-established congregation with a settled minister and a supportive and committed membership, is seeking to fill the position of Religious Exploration (RE) Coordinator. This is a part-time position requiring approximately 43 hour a month. Responsibilities include planning and organizing the children’s RE program (pre-K through middle school youth) and interfacing with the senior high school youth. The RE Coordinator attends and oversees the RE program three Sundays a month, and works with the Minister and Worship Associates on planning and implementing the intergenerational services for one Sunday a month. For the month of July each year, the RE Coordinator is on summer break. Other duties include communicating with parents and families about upcoming events, and communicating with the congregation and the larger community through an RE article for the monthly newsletter and by seeing that the website is updated as necessary. The RE Coordinator oversees the recruitment of teachers, childcare providers and helpers for RE services and special events. There are monthly meetings with the RE Council and the Minister, but most of these are facilitated virtually. The RE Coordinator attends other church events and parties that may be held during the year.
Salary: $800.00 per month
