Infants and toddlers get to know their peers in a safe and nurturing environment led by professional childcare providers.

Dates: Every Sunday morning

Times: 9:15-10:45 AM and 11:00 AM-12:30 PM September 11, 2016 – May 21, 2017

10:15-11:45 AM during the summer and on Sunday, December 25

Location: Beatrix Potter Nursery

9:30 Preschool-5th Grade

Children delve into the congregation’s monthly themes through hands-on activities that are designed to engage them on many different levels. Emphasis on the monthly theme allows children to explore topics in greater depth and provides families with an opportunity to explore the same theme in worship, children’s religious education, and at home.

Dates: Classes meet 3 to 4 Sundays a month September 11, 2016 – May 21, 2017.

Times: 9:45–10:30 AM. Begin in the 9:30 AM service.

Location: Ralph Waldo Emerson Room, Religious Education Suite

Parent Information Session: Sunday, September 11, 12:15pm – 1:15pm

11:15 Preschool-1st Grade

Stories, wondering questions, and meaningful activity choices encourage children to think independently, develop a sense of the spiritual, and create community within the mixed-age group classroom. Their curriculum, Creating Home, helps children develop a sense of belonging and purpose in both their family home and the congregation, recognizing the joys, protections, and responsibilities each offer.

Dates: Classes meet 3 to 4 Sundays a month September 11, 2016 – May 21, 2017.

Times: 11:30 AM – 12:15 PM. Begin in the 11:15 AM service.

Location: Ralph Waldo Emerson and Olympia Brown Rooms, Religious Education Suite

11:15 – 2nd-5th Grade

This group celebrates the important ways we live our faith in a covenanted community with a heritage of love, truth-seeking, and justice-making. Love Connects Us helps children explore their connections to one another and discover ways they are called to act in our congregation and the wider world.

Location: Charles Darwin Mezzanine

11:15 – 6th-8th Grade

Building Bridges leads adolescents to develop a deeper understanding of themselves and the dynamic and varied world in which they live. Together they explore world religions, Unitarian Universalism, and their own beliefs. Speakers, field trips, and involvement in social justice help them build connections in the local community.

Dates: Classes meet 3 to 4 Sundays a month from September 11, 2016 – May 21, 2017

Times:11:30 AM – 12:15 PM. Begin in the 11:15 AM service.

Location: Joseph Jordan Room, Religious Education Suite

Parent Information Session: Parents, please attend the 6th-9th Grade Parent Meeting on September 18, 12:15-1:15pm. Provide input on faiths to be covered and get important information about the program. RSVP to re-director@uusterling.org.

7th-9th Grade Coming of Age

Young teens are invited to explore their beliefs in greater depth and meet with church leaders, with an option to take part in a Coming of Age ceremony in the spring to recognize and celebrate the work they have done to prepare for their transition to adulthood. A trip to Boston is being planned.

Dates: Participants will attend 6th-8th Grade or High School Youth Group meetings on Sunday mornings. Meetings with the ministers and the Coming of Age ceremony will be scheduled with the participants.
