Building a loving, diverse, caring community

Keeping in Touch

There are several ways UUCS communicates with the congregation and outside to the community at large.

UUCS Website: Our website is the place for the public to find out about UUCS and Unitarian Universalism, including upcoming services, what to expect on a first visit, past sermon podcasts, upcoming events, staff, and more. Congregants can check the UUCS and tenants calendars, listen to sermon podcasts, make a pledge payment, and find contact info for many of our lay leaders and staff.

Illuminate: Our weekly e-newsletter (sample here) is emailed via MailChimp to a list of members and friends every Thursday. This is the best way to find out what’s on the horizon at UUCS and we also list events of interest happening outside our walls. We maintain a consistent, above-average open rate for our e-newsletter.

Special Email Announcements: (sample here) sometimes sent for important announcements or events that need special attention, via MailChimp.

Monthly News: (sample here) A supplement to our Order of Service, this monthly one-page flyer informs service attendees and visitors about our monthly liturgical theme with a short article written by our minister, and another by our RE Coordinator. There’s also information about upcoming events and services. The back of the flyer is geared more toward informing visitors about ways to get involved at UUCS, and staff office hours and contact info.

Facebook: We engage members and friends via social media with a consistent Facebook presence.

Email Groups: We utilize email groups to make it easier to connect with whole committees and groups.

Membership Directory: We try to update our membership directory every year or two. A digital copy of the current directory is available by request from our administrator.

Mailing Address: P.O. Box 1632, Sterling, VA 20167
