Popal Family Move

Saturday, February 22

In August of 2016, our congregation along with the Fairfax UU Congregation, agreed to co-sponsor a family from Afghanistan in their resettlement in the U.S. The family consisted of a mother with two children. They settled in Reston, and with financial support from both congregations, personal assistance in handling daily activities, improving English language, transportation, etc., the family is now managing on their own. They are moving to a new apartment and the coordinator for the Fairfax Refugee Committee is requesting volunteers to help with the moving.

First shift:

9:00 AM – Volunteers needed to supervise in old and new apartment
Volunteers needed to move fragile items to new apartment
Volunteers needed to clean old apartment kitchen and bath
Volunteers needed to dismantle beds

11:00 AM – Moving company with 3 men and a truck come

Second Shift:

12:00 PM – Volunteers needed to supervise in old and new apartments
Volunteers needed to clean up in old apartment
Volunteers needed to resettle new apartment and reassemble beds

Those people who will be moving fragile items (TV, computers, lamps, etc) need to be aware that both apartments are on the third floor so multiple steps are involved. If you can enlist any young ones that would be helpful!

Here are the old and new addresses:

From: 2213 Stone Wheel Drive Apt E, Reston 20191
To: 2106 Westglade Ct Apt 301, Reston 20191
