“Pastoral care is the faithful ministry of a community of people to the needs of people in face-to-face relationships. This ministry comes from a genuine concern for each person, caring about her as a person of unique worth, and caring for her as a mutual responsibility.”
– Paul Johnson, A Theology of Pastoral Care

Vision:
We are building the world we dream about where care, deep listening, and respect, nurtures all souls, so that they may thrive, within the context of our diverse and loving community, and the larger web of existence of which we are all a part.
Mission:
To listen with consideration to the sorrows and joys expressed by friends and members of our congregation during our worship services and beyond.
To respond to significant life events experienced by friends and members of our congregation, including but not exclusively the birth and death of loved ones, trauma, transition (e.g. marriage, job loss, divorce,) severe health challenges, and emotional fragility, with care, deep listening, and respect.
To work effectively in relationship with the congregation’s professional minister(s) to provide pastoral care to the congregation, and to maintain an adequate level of pastoral service when the congregation’s professional minister(s) are not available to serve.
